Antique Silver Thread Embroidery

Check out these closeups of a collar from an antique Ottoman garment. The metal thread is exquisitely embroidered onto red velvet. I hope you can see the stitching details enough to be as inspired by the techniques as I am!

    DMC had a wonderful book on Turkish Embroidery. Also Moroccan Embroidery. Lovely stuff.

    Ohh my goodness, lovely work Mary...it reminds me of the hours spent near my grandmother while she embroidered, your work is amazing.
