Dia de los Muertos

My little skulls for Dia de los Muertos altars. Can't see in the photos -- but they have names and crosses painted on the back.

  2. HI There!
I just found your blog, and wanted to let you know that I LOVED your post on the mermaid project. First, I LOVE mermaids, but then, I always am drawn to these kinds of crafty items in stores. I'm a sucker for them every time, and it was fascinating to get some insight on the whole creative process. Cheers!

  3. Great minds and all that. We had a Dia De Los Muertos fiesta at the kids school and I found the skulls at the dollar store and put silk flowers in them for the center pieces! I bought a whole more to use next year in a project with the kids, maybe making ofrendas?

  4. Mama! Yes, that's where I found them too! I found it was tricky finding stuff to decorate the plastic with. The photo shows them after I'd peeled off the glitter glue (sigh) -- certain brands didn't stick. The rhinestones stuck just fine but they eyes look a little plain. Next year (I have a few stashed too, hehe) I think I'll do tissue paper flowers around the eyes. Great minds, tuned in. Loved all your Dia dl M stuff this year!
